Gardening Gloves

A friend gave me a large piece of thermal knit.
It looked to me like it was just begging to turn into gardening gloves,
so I cut apart a pair of old brown jersey gloves to use for a pattern,
and managed to get half a dozen pairs from the fabric.
I gave away all but this pair.

I made a scrunchie with the last little piece of fabric.
(No, I didn't keep it.  I look funny in scrunchies.  I gave it to Victoria.)

I printed these tags and attached them to the gloves,
so that if they had an odd fit to them, I wouldn't get the blame.  ;-)

Victoria's Brown Satin Christmas Dress

We found some shoes on eBay labeled 'Bronze' -- and they matched this fabric perfectly.
The fabric is from www.fabric.com.

I decided the dress needed a bit of garnish, so made this scarf.

Appliqués and Decals

A couple of appliqués make a big difference on a white sweater:

Victoria drew the pictures on this white shirt with fabric pens, which we set with a hot iron:

Hester and Lydia's Skirts

We bought the shirts... and I made the white tiered, lined skirts.
Pictures taken at Pawnee Park at our annual church picnic.
I was a long ways away, using my big lens.  The girls had no idea I was taking their picture.  :-)

Crocheted Pinafore of Fine Purple Thread, White Ruffly Dress

In 2000, Hannah crocheted a pinafore for Victoria of fine purple thread.  I made a white ruffled dress to go under it, and she wore it for Easter.

Can you tell which picture was taken before church, and which one after church, after Victoria dashed back and forth from the church to our house a couple of times, and once over to Grandma Swiney's house to show her the outfit?

Seven years later, on May 27, 2007, her own little girl, Joanna, wore it (though she didn't have on the same cancan, in this photo):

Victoria's Corduroy Stripe Outfit

I've made this outfit big enough that it will fit Victoria this coming winter.  I'll give it to her for Christmas, along with the doll clothes for her Hannah Pepper doll.

Jacket and jumper are lined.

There was just enough fabric left over to make a skirt for Joanna --

-- and a matching skirt, vest, top, pantaloons, and hat for Victoria's 8" Hannah Pepper doll:
