Ethan's Apron

A few months ago, my son Teddy asked what I would charge to make these little aprons for his children.  They like to cook and bake and help in the kitchen, and they have a tendency to, shall we say,
really get into their work.

"No, no, you can't pay me!" I said.
"I've been needing ideas of what to give them for Christmas,
and this will nicely fill the bill."

So here they are, done just in time for our
get-together tomorrow night.

See the nifty blanket stitch my 'new' machine can do?

Jeffrey's Apron

The skirt of this little apron wound up a bit too full to suit me, for a little boy, at least.  Hopefully, it will look okay once it's on.

Lyle's Apron

Note the fancy stitch around the pocket.

Emma's Apron

This little apron turned out so cute,
it could be a pinafore to wear to school.
Look at the pretty stitch my 'new' Bernina Artista 180 made on the pocket.

Victoria's 50s Dress

This is Victoria's 50s-era dress, made from a pattern that was actually made in the 1950s.  I invariably forget that the armholes and necklines are too tight.  This time I remembered to cut the armhole and sleeve bigger, but forgot about the neckline.  Did 1950s-era ladies have scrawny chicken necks, or did they just like to go around feeling strangled, or what??  Fortunately, Victoria doesn't have a very big neck.  The low-waisted skirt has box pleats.  The bow is tied around a stay that is sewn on under the collar.

Shirts for Aaron's Birthday

I couldn't match the stripes on the green and red shirt; there was a big flaw running the entire length of the fabric. I baaaarely could squeeze the sleeve out of the remainder.
